Here we have a beautiful 1960 Oscar Teller 61P classical guitar, made in West Germany, and a wonderful example of mid-century European craftsmanship.
These early Teller instruments have a charm and maturity that only comes with age. This one has opened up beautifully over the decades — it delivers a warm, rich and articulate voice with great clarity across the strings. The bass response is rounded and expressive, while the trebles sing with that sweet, traditional classical character.
It feels lively and responsive in the hands, with a comfortable neck profile and an effortless, musical feel. Whether you’re a classical player, fingerstyle guitarist or collector of vintage European acoustics, this is a very special piece.
Condition is excellent for its age. There are only very minor dings as shown in the photos, but overall it has been very well cared for over the past 60+ years.
