Here’s a piece of Japanese guitar history — a 1970s Ibanez Concord Model 647 from the legendary pre-lawsuit era. These guitars were Ibanez’s high-quality takes on classic American acoustics, built with exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail.

This one has clearly been played and loved over the years, showing honest wear on the body and headstock, but it only adds to its charm. It’s opened up beautifully with age, delivering a warm, articulate tone that’s everything you’d expect from a vintage Japanese acoustic. The feel is broken-in and comfortable, making it an inspiring player.

If you’re into older acoustics with real character, this is not one to miss.

  • This Concord has seen plenty of use and wears its battle scars proudly. There are dings and marks across the body, some wear to the headstock edges, and age-related cosmetic blemishes throughout. Structurally it’s solid, with no cracks or repairs, and it plays and sounds great. The tone has really matured over the decades — warm, resonant, and full of character, some wear on the frets but plenty of life left in them, and nothing that effects playablity.
