A lovely early USA-made Ovation Balladeer 1111 dating from 1979, complete with its original hard case, paperwork and owner's manuals.
These early Balladeers have become increasingly sought after in recent years, representing the period where Ovation was establishing itself as one of the most innovative acoustic builders in the world. The combination of the solid spruce top and Lyrachord bowl back gives this guitar a voice all of its own – clear, balanced and surprisingly powerful, with excellent projection.
This example has aged beautifully and remains in remarkably good condition for a guitar now over 47 years old. The top has matured nicely, giving it a warm vintage appearance, while the neck feels comfortable and easy to play throughout. A fantastic piece of American acoustic guitar history that still performs exactly as intended.

Superb condition for a guitar of this age.
The guitar presents exceptionally well and has clearly been carefully looked after throughout its life. There are a handful of minor marks, dings and surface scratches to the top as pictured, all entirely consistent with a well-cared-for 50-year-old instrument. The bowl back remains in excellent condition and the neck, headstock and hardware have all survived remarkably well.
The frets show minimal wear and the guitar plays beautifully with a comfortable action.
A genuinely impressive vintage example.
