Here’s something pretty special — a 1992 Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro, finished in a gorgeous Cherry Sunburst. This was the very first year these left the Patrick Eggle workshop in Coventry, hand-built under the watchful eye of Patrick himself, making it a proper slice of British guitar-making history.
The Berlin Pro quickly became the flagship of the line — a boutique build that stood toe-to-toe with the big US brands, but with a voice and feel all its own. With its carved flame maple top over mahogany, ebony board, and sleek contours, this one has both the looks and the playing comfort to back up its reputation.
This example is in very good condition for its age. There’s a touch of buckle rash on the back and some small dings around the body, plus a little piece missing from the truss rod cover — but nothing that stands out or spoils the aesthetic. It’s a guitar that’s been played and loved, not locked away, and all the better for it.
Playability is absolutely on point: the set mahogany neck feels fantastic, the frets are in great shape, and it’s set up beautifully, with spot-on intonation and effortless action. Plugged in, it’s a versatile beast thanks to the three-way pickup selector and coil split system — flicking between full humbuckers, outer-coil singles, and inner-coil singles for a wide spread of tones.
Made right here in Coventry, this guitar’s got homegrown heritage baked into it — and it’s still an absolute powerhouse on stage or in the studio.
