A proper bit of history here.

Mid-60s Epiphone FT-79 Texan — the same model famously played by Paul McCartney, and for good reason. These have a really distinctive voice — warm, woody, and open, but with that bit of punch when you dig in.

This one’s got all the character you’d hope for. It’s clearly been played and loved over the years, and it shows in the best way. Nothing over the top — just honest ageing and some well-executed work over the years that adds to the feel and sound.

They don’t come up all that often, especially in this sort of condition. A special guitar with a proper story behind it.

Plenty of honest playwear across the body — light marks, surface scratches and general ageing as you’d expect from a 60-year-old guitar. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a well-played vintage instrument with character.

This one has had some professional work carried out over the years:

    • New ebony fretboard fitted
    • Non-original tuners installed
    • Back of the body has been refinished

All work has been done to a good standard and the guitar remains structurally solid, playing and sounding exactly as it should.

(As always with vintage pieces — this isn’t a case queen, it’s a real, played instrument.)
