Here’s something you don’t see every day — a Fender FSR Select Stratocaster crafted from reclaimed old-growth redwood, built in Corona, California in 2014. This very limited Factory Special Run combines classic Strat design with a fascinating slice of history.
The body is fashioned from timber that once served as bridge beams, originally installed in 1933 as part of Civilian Conservation Corps projects during the Great Depression. These bridges were decommissioned in 2012, and Fender salvaged some of that aged Californian redwood to build this special model. The result is a Stratocaster that’s light, resonant, and packed with character — every piece is unique.
This example features a natural satin finish that really shows off the swirling grain of the reclaimed wood, a comfortable maple neck with rosewood board, and a versatile SSH pickup configuration with a bridge humbucker to give it a bit more bite when you need it. Add Fender locking tuners, a modern 2-point tremolo, and you’ve got a Strat that balances history, playability, and tone beautifully.
Complete with its original hardcase and candy, this is a seriously special guitar for both collectors and players.

This guitar is in very good condition with only a few light surface scratches and small dings, none of which draw the eye. There’s also a small imperfection in the finish on the side which appears to have been present from the factory. Other than that, it has clearly been well cared for and remains a superb example of this rare collector’s instrument.
