A proper Gretsch through and through — the G5422T is one of those guitars that just oozes character. Big, open, and resonant, with that unmistakable Gretsch chime and snap.
This Korean-made example is from the earlier Electromatic runs, often regarded as a step up in terms of build and feel. The fully hollow body gives it a really lively response, while the trestle bracing helps keep things controlled when you add gain.
Loaded with Filter’Tron pickups, you get that classic Gretsch voice — clear, punchy, slightly jangly but still full enough to handle rock, blues and indie without issue.
The Bigsby adds that extra bit of movement and vibe — subtle but really expressive when you use it right.
Finished in Walnut Stain, which really suits these — understated, classy, and a bit different from the usual brighter Gretsch colours.
A great option if you want something inspiring that stands apart from the usual solid body crowd.
