This is an Ibanez Premium AZ42P1 in black with white binding, and it’s a seriously impressive modern player’s guitar.
Built from American basswood and loaded with Seymour Duncan Hyperion humbuckers, it delivers clarity, punch and balance across the spectrum — whether you’re playing clean, pushing edge-of-breakup tones, or running higher gain. The dyna-MIX10 switching system with Alter Switch opens up ten distinct tonal variations, including convincing single-coil-style tones via the Power Tap mode. It’s an incredibly versatile setup without ever feeling complicated.
It plays an absolute dream. The AZ Oval C roasted maple neck feels smooth and stable, and the 24 jumbo stainless steel frets are flawless under the fingers. Add in the Super All Access Neck Joint, and upper fret access is effortless. The 2-point floating tremolo is smooth and stable, making it a very expressive instrument.
Condition-wise, it’s excellent and almost unmarked. Frets show minimal wear and everything feels tight, clean and properly dialled in.
Supplied with the original Ibanez gigbag.
Built by Ibanez, the Premium AZ range consistently punches above its weight — and this one absolutely delivers.
