Built in Japan by Tokai Gakki, this 2019 example combines a solid African Mahogany body with a two-piece Maple top and a pair of Tokai's LP-OLD MK2 P90 pickups. The result is everything you'd expect from a great Gold Top – punchy cleans, woody midrange, plenty of bite when pushed, and a ton of character.
At 9.56lbs, it has the reassuring feel of a traditional single-cut without being excessively heavy. It also benefits from quality Switchcraft and Gotoh hardware throughout, a comfortable asymmetrical U-shaped neck profile, and comes complete with its original Tokai hard case, certificate of authenticity and paperwork.
A fantastic alternative to far more expensive American-built equivalents, and a guitar that punches well above its price point.

Very good condition overall.
This guitar presents incredibly well and has clearly been looked after.
There are a couple of very small dings on the rear edge of the body as photographed, along with some light swirling and handling marks on the black headstock face. The hardware shows a small amount of natural ageing and patina consistent with use.The frets are in excellent shape with plenty of life remaining, and the guitar has been fully checked over, and is ready to go.
