A seriously cool and increasingly hard-to-find Japanese-built Vox here. Produced for Vox by Aria Pro II in the early 1980s, the Custom 24 sits firmly in that golden era of Japanese guitar manufacturing where build quality regularly punched well above its price point.
The standout feature is the neck-through-body construction, with contrasting centre laminates running the full length of the instrument. Combined with the solid brass nut, twin humbuckers and substantial hardware, it has a feel that's much closer to a boutique build than many guitars from the period.
The natural finish really shows off the multi-piece construction, while the cream pickup surrounds and gold hardware give it a distinctive look that stands apart from the usual single-cut crowd.
A rare piece of early-'80s Japanese guitar history that doesn't come around very often.

Good overall condition for its age.
The guitar shows honest signs of use consistent with a 40+ year old instrument. There is tarnishing and wear to the gold hardware, light marks and scratches throughout the finish, and cosmetic wear to the control cavity cover. There are also a few small dings and edge marks around the body, but nothing unexpected for a well-played vintage Japanese guitar.
The frets remain in good shape and the guitar plays well with plenty of life left in it.
